A narrow-belt sorter employs multiple narrow belts with pop-up wheels/rollers to laterally divert light parcels at merge points. It is a cost-efficient solution for small-to-medium throughput and limited spaces. Typical configuration here provides 20 sort destinations, expandable by adding modules. Integrates easily with conveyor lines and WMS/WCS for simple zone-based routing. Typical process areas: inbound (goods receipt & check-in), item sorting (order consolidation, put-to-zone), outbound (shipping waves), and returns handling.
Sectors: fashion/apparel, specialty retail, returns centers, light SME e‑commerce. Goods: lightweight cartons, small boxes, postal packets. Use cases: economical zone sorting, post-pick consolidation, returns grading. Strengths: low CAPEX, modular expansion, simple maintenance.
